Itinerary

DAY 1 DEPART
Bienvenue à Montréal. You’ll be met at the airport and taken to your hotel to unpack, unwind, and enjoy a relaxing dinner before starting your adventures tomorrow.
DAY 2 MONTREAL
After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a walking tour of the Old Port and Old Town. You’ll take part in a group activity, Les Fantômes du Vieux-Montréal, in which you will be divided into teams and sent on a hunt for information about this fascinating area. You’ll also visit the Centre des Sciences in the Old Port before enjoying lunch in Old Montreal. In the afternoon, enjoy free time for some shopping in the bustling downtown areas of Ste Catherine and Sherbrooke Street.
DAY 3 MONTREAL
After breakfast at the hotel you’ll have a quick talk about the history and orientation of the Montreal subway, then you’ll travel on it to the Biodôme – an oasis in the heart of the city, with many ecosystems – and to the Olympic Stadium. You’ll enjoy lunch in the Botanical Garden, with over 30 themed gardens, and then visit the adjacent Insectarium, an educational center for these misunderstood creatures. In the evening, a picnic dinner at the Parc Maisonneuve, one of the most popular parks in the city, completes your day.
DAY 4 QUEBEC CITY
Au revoir Montréal, bonjour Québec! This morning you’ll transfer to Quebec on the “dauphins” (hovercraft) along the St Lawrence River to Old Quebec. After checking in to your centrally located hotel, you’ll have lunch on St Jean Street inside the walls of the Old Town. Afterwards you’ll enjoy a leisurely walk to see highlights such as the Plains of Abraham and Parliament Hill. A local guide will then take you on a walking tour of the Old Town, including the Château Frontenac, with its spectacular location above the St Lawrence River, the Citadel and the Place Royale, the Old Town’s most important square. You’ll have the chance to meet with students from Quebec and share dinner in the warm atmosphere of a local restaurant, with live French singers. After dinner enjoy a late night walk on la Terrasse Dufferin, overlooking the sights of Quebec illuminated against the night sky.
DAY 5 QUEBEC CITY
This morning you’ll travel to the breathtaking Parc de Jacques Cartier by chartered bus, where you’ll have an orientation program to get you ready for an afternoon’s canoeing and kayaking. After a break for lunch, you’ll have a couple of hours on the water in these beautiful surroundings. Then it’s back to Quebec for dinner in a local restaurant with live folk singing. Alternatively, you’ll have the option to go to anoutdoor show from the Summer Festival program.
DAY 6 QUEBEC CITY
This morning you’ll head for the Place Royale to join your boat tour, which will take you on a 90-minute guided trip that takes in Montmorency Falls, the Beaupré Coast, and the Ile d’Orléans. You’ll be able to practice your French, as you’ll learn marine vocabulary and will be asked to give the captain a hand sailing the boat. You’ll disembark on the Ile d’Orléans where a bus will take you to the Camp St François, a day camp where you’ll join other students from Quebec to enjoy outdoor activities such as gymnastics, archery, volleyball, soccer and more. You can hike on the extensive nature trails of l’Espace Félix-Leclerc, and, if time allows, you’ll either go strawberry picking or visit a local chocolate factory for a demonstration – and some delicious tasting! Dinner will be in an early 18th-century farmhouse with waiters in period costume. You’ll return to Quebec to sleep.
DAY 7 MONTREAL
Au revoir Québec! You’ll check out of the hotel this morning and travel to Montreal by train. After unpacking you’ll be able to visit the Marché Bonsecours (Farmer’s Market), and afterwards enjoy a cooking demonstration using local produce to prepare typical Montreal dishes. Then enjoy some free time to explore the local area before dinner.
DAY 8 MONTREAL
After breakfast, walk to the lively and quaint St Denis Street district for lunch and then enjoy free time for some lastminute shopping and sightseeing. Dinner will be in a great restaurant to end the trip on a memorable note. Finally, a night-time horse and buggy ride through the streets of the Old Town will give you a final, unforgettable experience on this fantastic trip.
DAY 9 HOME
Depart for the US.
