Itinerary

DAY 1 DEPART
Departure from the US.
DAY 2 GALWAY
Caed mille failte – “A hundred thousand welcomes” is an Irish expression and a genuine sentiment. You will find the Irish such warm and friendly people. Your Irish experience begins in the music capital of the Emerald Isle, Galway. Enjoy free time to relax at your Galway Bay hotel.
DAY 3 GALWAY
Board the bus for your double-decker tour of the city’s highlights. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore this vibrant former fishing village, now a popular and colorful university town. One of the highlights of the trip promises to be your visit to a performance of siamsa, a traditional evening of Irish song, music, and poetry in its
purist form.
DAY 4 DUBLIN
Off to Dublin’s “fair city” for a two-day adventure in one of Europe’s most fun and literary capitals. After some free time to stretch your legs and explore, you’ll board your tour bus for an overview of the city’s most famous monuments, including Dublin Castle, O’Connell Street, and the Guinness Brewery. Your recommended ECI Experience Extra this evening will be to participate in a ceilidh (pronounced “kaley”), truly fun and energetic Irish music and dancing. Grab a partner and hit the dance floor!
DAY 5 DUBLIN
No trip to Dublin would be complete without a viewing of the worldfamous Book of Kells, a handcrafted 9th-century illuminated manuscript at Trinity College, where you’ll also have a chance to tour the university. Then there's free time for lunch in the Temple Bar area, Dublin’s youthful and artistic quarter. Round off your day with an afternoon of shopping and exploring on Grafton Street.
DAY 6 LONDON
A mere hour’s flight across the Irish Sea, and you’re in England. After checking into your city-center hotel, your first introduction to London will be from the comfort of your tour bus, as you sit back and enjoy the sights of this great capital: Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Thames, to name but a few. Dinner will be in Covent Garden, giving you the chance to be entertained by the many musicians and street performers who make this a really fun place to enjoy a few hours.
DAY 7 LONDON
How would you like to spend the morning rubbing shoulders with your favorite stars? Does it really matter if they’re only made of wax? Madame Tussauds is London’s premier tourist attraction and a must-see for every visitor to the city, so don’t forget your camera. It’s your final afternoon in London and you’re faced with an important decision - admiring the priceless ancient artifacts at the British Museum, or admiring the equally priceless designer wear at Harrods. Culture or shopping? You decide.
DAY 8 OXFORD
It’s time to head out of England’s capital and journey to Oxford, home to one of the world’s most famous and respected universities. After checking in to your hotel and some free time exploring the beautiful city center, you’ll have an overview of the city from atop your double-decker tour bus. Oxford is truly an architectural
treasure – don’t miss the Radcliffe Camera, the Sheldonian Theatre, and, of course, the many colleges. Your recommended ECI Experience Extra will have you spending the rest of your day engaged in the ancient art of punting, a leisurely river experience on a gondola-like boat, with only a giant pole to guide you…
DAY 9 OXFORD
It’s your final day in the British Isles and you have the choice of visits to the following places: Stonehenge and Bath, or Stratford and Warwick Castle. The trip to
Stonehenge will bring you face to face with Britain’s ancient pagan past, before heading to Bath for an afternoon immersing yourself in the splendor of this fine city, which was home to Jane Austen. Alternatively, take the medieval route and visit Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare - a very pleasant town that still bears much evidence of its Elizabethan heritage. Just a short drive from Stratford is one of England’s most popular sights, Warwick Castle. Explore the dungeon, walk the ramparts, visit the haunted tower, and get a great snapshot of medieval England. After your return to Oxford that evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at one of Oxford’s best Indian restaurants.
