8-day Québec Experience
Itinerary

DAY 1 DEPART
Salut Montréal! A bus will meet you at the
airport to transfer you to the hotel. Here
you’ll have the chance to unpack before
enjoying dinner in a local restaurant.
DAY 2 MONTREAL
Montreal is Canada’s
most European city, and a walking tour
through the cobbled streets of the Old Town
will let you soak up that French atmosphere.
You’ll visit all the main sights, including
Notre Dame Basilica, Montreal’s oldest
Catholic church with amazing stained glass
documenting the history of the city. In the
afternoon, you’ll visit the Biodôme at the
Olympic Park, and will enjoy a funicular ride
offering spectacular views of the surrounding
countryside.
DAY 3 QUEBEC CITY
Today you’ll have the
morning free to explore the Old Town on
your own, then it’s back to the hotel to
collect bags and board the train for Quebec
City. Upon arrival, you’ll be taken to your
hotel where you will have time to unpack
and relax before dinner.
DAY 4 QUEBEC CITY
North America’s only
walled city has overgrown its boundaries, but
within the walls of the Old Town you’ll find
a charming, European-style enclave of
narrow streets and stone buildings. After a
breakfast of crêpes, a local guide will take
you on a walking tour of the Old Town,
taking in highlights such as the Citadel,
where you may be able to see the Changing
of the Guard. For lunch, enjoy a sumptuous
three-course meal in the ornate dining hall of
the Parliament building. If you’re visiting in
the winter months, a bus will take you to the
amazing and aptly named Ice Hotel, followed
by dogsledding with your very own huskies!
(Other activities will be offered in the
summer.)
DAY 5 QUEBEC CITY
This morning you’ll
breakfast at Le Cochon Dingue in the historic
Lower Town, then enjoy a guided tour of
the Place Royale, the heart of the district
since the founding of the city. You may also
have the chance to visit the fabulous Musée
de la Civilisation, with its interactive exhibits.
After a ferry ride across the St Lawrence
River (breaking through the ice depending on
the season), you’ll take a funicular to the
Château Frontenac, a hotel high on a bluff
overlooking the river. You’ll go by minibus to
the Beaupré Coast, a charming area founded
in the 17th century which still retains much
of its original architecture. You’ll see the
spectacular Montmorency Falls nearby and
enjoy dinner and dancing in a typical Sugar
Shack, where maple sugar has been made
for centuries.
DAY 6 QUEBEC CITY
After breakfast you’ll have a guided tour of the historic
Château Frontenac, standing over Cap
Diamant. Then, after lunch and a 3-D film of
the Quebec Experience, you’ll have free
afternoon to spend as you please before
meeting your host families for dinner.
DAY 7 QUEBEC CITY
A day of language
learning, when you’ll spend time with your
language partner doing activities in and
around Quebec City. More free time in the
afternoon will let you explore those last
undiscovered streets, or do some last-minute
souvenir shopping. In the evening, enjoy a
farewell dinner in a typical Québecois
restaurant. Then it’s au revoir Québec! A la
prochaine!
DAY 8 HOME
Depart for the US.
