DAY 1 DEPART
Departure from the US.
DAY 2 HEIDELBERG
Arrive in Germany and head straight for the beautiful university city of Heidelberg . After feasting German-style, enjoy free time to explore the fairy-tale town center.
DAY 3 HEIDELBERG
Guten Morgen! Ride the funicular to the castle on the hill overlooking beautiful Heidelberg . See the other highlights of the city with a guided walking tour before your journey to Munich. After an early dinner participate in an ECI Experience Extra of your choice.
DAY 4 HEIDELBERG
You have a fun few hours in store as you tour the city in the hands of your expert and entertaining guide. Some of the hot spots on the way are the Rathaus and the Glockenspiel. Choose from an afternoon of sightseeing: Schloss Nymphenburg, Alte Pinakothek Museum, Englische Garten, or a visit to the Dachau Memorial.
DAY 5 LUCERNE
Auf Wiedersehen Germany! Your chartered bus takes you to Neuschwanstein Castle just outside of Munich, one of Germany 's most recognizable symbols. The white-turreted palace of King Ludwig will probably remind you of something from a Grimm fairy tale. Off again, and into the picturesque country of Switzerland. Lucerne, here we come! After lunch and free time to settle into your hotel, you'll take a walking tour of this small city. Any sightseeing here must begin with the 14th-century Kapellbrüke, the oldest covered bridge in Europe. Take special note of the painted roof panels, one of which depicts William Tell shooting the apple from his son's head. ECI Experience Extra of your choice this evening.
DAY 6 INNSBRUCK
Grüss Gott Austria and welcome to the Tyrolean capital - Innsbruck, a city most definitely at one with nature. This afternoon, explore the stunning alpine scenery with your very own experienced mountain guide. Free time this evening in the old town. Don't miss the famous Golden Roof.
DAY 7 SALZBURG
Depart Innsbruck for the musical mecca of Salzburg, home to Mozart and the von Trapps. Take the funicular to the Hohenfestung fortress for spectacular views of the city. Back down to earth and a short stroll along the cobbled streets to the birthplace of Mozart. "The hills are alive with the sound of music"... especially at dinnertime in the old city! Opt for an entertaining dining experience, accompanied by songs from the much-loved film.
DAY 8 VIENNA
Off to Vienna, elegant capital of Austria, filled with monumental reminders of its glorious past. After settling in and some free time, take a fairy-tale ride through the historic center in a horse-drawn carriage. This evening enjoy an ECI Experience Extra of your choice.
DAY 9 VIENNA
Come face to face with royal Hapsburg splendor as you explore the apartments of the Hofburg Palace in the heart of the city. Work up an appetite for lunch with a quick sprint up the 343 steps to the top of St. Stephen's Cathedral for the best views in town. After a revitalizing Apfelstrudel, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping and sightseeing. Your journey is almost at an end so be sure to savor the last evening of your adventure.
DAY 10 HOME
Depart for the US.
