DAY 1 DEPART
Departure from the US.
DAY 2 ROME
Welcome to Rome and the start of your ten-day trip to the classical heart of Europe. After a brief rest, you’re off for an incredible floodlit walking tour, passing by the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps on the way. Drift off to sleep with visions of Roman ruins, sandy beaches, Grecian temples, and sailing vessels transporting you from port to cove to coast across the blue, blue seas of the Mediterranean and Aegean.
DAY 3 ROME
Spend the first full day of your trip immersed in the treasures of the Eternal City. Picture postcards you’ll write tonight will be filled with highlights of your amazing day spent at the Colosseum, Forum, and the Vatican City.
DAY 4 CAPRI
Travel south and cross the bay by boat to Capri, the Island of Dreams. Ascend the cliffs to Capri Town by funicular and spend the rest of the day taking in the stunning views, while you explore the winding streets and unique shops. Back across the bay for an evening in Sorrento, a town perched on a ledge in the shadow of the mountains, with the Mediterranean at its feet. ECI Experience Extra of your choice.
DAY 5 POMPEII
Your bus becomes a time machine as you travel back to that fateful day in 79 AD when life for the locals in Pompeii was stopped in its tracks. Explore this city of
well-preserved ruins before driving to the eastern coast to catch the overnight ferry to Greece.
DAY 6 NÁFPLIO
Wake up in Patras and head for the vibrant and elegant coastal town of Náfplio. En route, stop off in Mycenae, home to Agamemnon’s citadel. Enjoy free time to
discover the charm of Náfplio.
DAY 7 NÁFPLIO
This morning you’ll have an ECI Experience Extra of your choice. After lunch, relax at the sandy beach nearby. Later, return to Náfplio for an evening of local entertainment.
DAY 8 ATHENS
Depart for Athens with a stop at the amphitheater of Epidaurus on the way. In Athens, wander through the Plaka, a pedestrianized area of alleys and stairs and a fascinating mix of Byzantine, neo-classical, and Greek Island architecture.
DAY 9 ATHENS
Explore the glory of Greece with visits to the Acropolis, the Theater of Dionysos, and the Parthenon. Don’t forget your camera as you take the funicular up to Lycabettus Hill for the best views in town. Afterwards, down to Kolonáki, one of Athens’ trendiest and most chic neighborhoods, known for its variety of classy shops and steep, narrow streets. Bid a fond farewell to Greece with a fun farewell dinner. Adío!
DAY 10 HOME
Depart for the US.
