DAY 1 DEPART
Departure from the US.

DAY 2 TARQUINIA
Travel to the beautiful coastal town of Tarquinia, a medieval town famous for its archeological remains. You will have a chance to relax at the hotel or on the beach before enjoying a welcome dinner.

DAY 3 TARQUINIA
Spend the morning in the Etruscan Necropolis, just outside the town, with some of the most beautiful and wellpreserved tombs of the ancient world. In the afternoon relax on the beach, or take an optional trip to nearby Viterbo, a picturesque town full of ancient monuments. Among them is the Duomo in the main square, whose foundations date back to pagan times. Return to Tarquinia for dinner.

DAY 4 PERUGIA
On your way to Perugia you’ll visit Orvieto, a town perched high above the sea and reached by funicular. Its Gothic Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in Italy. In the afternoon you’ll travel to Perugia, where you’ll have dinner, and then the chance to join Italy’s most lively passeggiate (an evening promenade) along the Corso Vannucci, one of the country’s most celebrated pedestrian streets.

DAY 5 PERUGIA
This morning you will visit the birthplace of St Francis – Assisi, where you will have a guided visit of the Basilica di San Francesco. You’ll have plenty of time to explore this beautiful town before returning to Perugia. In the evening you’ll have a fantastic cooking class at the prestigious Cordon Bleu School, with the chance to sample your efforts at the end of the evening.

DAY 6 RIMINI
Before leaving Perugia this morning, you’ll have a guided tour of some of the town’s main sights, including the Piazza IV Novembre and the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria, one of central Italy’s best galleries. Then a charted bus will take you to the beautiful coastal resort of Rimini, for an afternoon on the beach, followed by dinner.

DAY 7 RIMINI
In the morning you’ll take a trip to Ravenna, famous for its fantastic mosaics, dating from the 6th and 7th centuries. On your way back to Rimini you’ll stop in Marzabotto to see the remains of the Etruscan town of Misa. You’ll be back in Rimini to enjoy some late-afternoon sun on the beach before dinner.

DAY 8 SIENA
This morning you’ll take a trip to San Gimignano, with its stunning skyline of medieval hilltop towers. From here you journey will continue on to Siena, a unique and beautiful city known as “the hilltown equivalent of Venice”. After a guided tour of the Duomo, Siena’s majestic Gothic cathedral, you’ll have time to soak up the local atmosphere in the Piazza del Campo, the most picturesque of all Italian squares. In the evening you’ll have a tour and wine tasting at the Enoteca Italiana, Italy’s national wine library located in the Medici fortress.

DAY 9 SIENA
You’ll spend the day touring the historic sites of Tuscany. First stop: Lucca, one of Tuscany’s most beautiful provincial capitals with a great historic center. From here you’ll travel to Pisa, home of the world-renowned Leaning Tower! Then you’ll head back to Siena for the rest of the evening.

DAY 10 SIENA
Today you’ll visit Florence, one of the world’s most spectacular cities and home to more Renaissance masterpieces than anywhere else on earth. You can’t walk a step in Florence without seeing a gem of Renaissance art: its in the architecture, its fountains, it’s public statues, not to mention its world-beating galleries the Uffizi and the Academia, where you’ll find Michelangelo’s marble David. You’ll return to Siena for the evening.

DAY 11 ROME
Today you’ll leave Siena for the Eternal City: Rome! You’ll arrive in plenty of time to enjoy some sightseeing, and in Rome there is so much to see you won’t want to waste any time. Visit the Colosseum, where the gladiators fought to the death, the Forum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the beautiful Trevi fountain- don't forgrt to sample the gelato!

DAY 12 ROME
You’ll continue your Roman experience with more sightseeing: perhaps the church of San Giovanni in Laterano, the oldest church in the world, or the recently restored Domus Aurea de Nerone palace, with its gold and gemencrusted interiors. Enjoy the best Italian food in a local trattoria in the evening.

DAY 13 ROME
Your last day in Rome will include an unforgettable experience to end a trip full of memories: an audience with the Pope and a tour of the Vatican. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the city, before saying arrivederci Roma!

DAY 14 HOME
Depart for the US.
