DAY 1 DEPART
Departure from the US.
DAY 2 VENICE
Your first real view of Venice is from the water as you sail by boat across the lagoon from the airport to the city. Venice has treasures in abundance, but the main one is the city itself. Lose yourself in the jumble of streets, canals, bridges, and piazzas as you soak up the atmosphere of this enchanting city. Don’t worry, you can’t really get lost - all roads lead to Piazza San Marco, where at night you’ll be entertained by the many orchestras that line the square, all competing for your attention. Opt to glide through night-time Venice on a gondola, a must for true romantics.
DAY 3 VENICE
Explore some specific treasures, such as the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica on your ECI walking tour. Enjoy some free time before participating in an ECI Experience Extra of your choice.
DAY 4 VENICE
Down the Grand Canal to meet your bus for the three-hour journey across the countryside to Florence. Spend the afternoon with David at the Accademia.
DAY 5 FLORENCE
The Renaissance city awaits you! An expert guide will take you on a tour through the heart of Florence to discover the highlights, including Giotto’s Tower, the
Baptistry Doors, and the Duomo, where the energetic can climb the dome for glorious views of this incredible city. There’s time to taste the best gelato on the planet before the ECI Experience Extra of your choice begins.
DAY 6 ASSISI & ROME
On to Rome, via the spectacular town of Assisi, where you’ll visit the Basilica di San Francesco, one of the artistic and religious highlights of Europe. Covered with frescoes by the leading artists of the day, the basilica dominates this spectacular Umbrian hill town. And now for the grand finale of your Italian adventure – the Eternal City of Rome. Enjoy a floodlit walking tour, passing by the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Drift off to sleep amid visions of gladiators at the Colosseum, emperors at the Forum, and of Michelangelo painting his masterpiece on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
DAY 7 ROME
Your dreams from the night before become reality as you explore the highlights of Rome with your expert guide. These will include the Forum, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, and Vatican City. A farewell dinner concludes your Italian adventure. Arrivederci!
DAY 8 HOME
Depart for the US.
