DAY 1 DEPART
Departure from the US.

DAY 2 BARCELONA
Hola España! Barcelona is one of Europe’s most lively cities with a vibrant Catalan culture all of its own. Nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees, looking out at the Mediterranean, it combines the best of old and new Spain. Arrive at your hotel, drop off your bags, and explore the neighborhood. Later, enjoy a relaxing dinner at your hotel.

DAY 3 BARCELONA
Enjoy a day’s sightseeing, including the Castillo de Montjuïc and the atmospheric Gothic Quarter with its maze of narrow streets. You’ll also have a trip to Gaudí’s remarkable cathedral – the Sagrada Familia, an amazing monument to one man’s faith that soars skywards like something from a dream, and is still unfinished after all these years. The 1992 Olympic complex will round out the day’s sights.

DAY 4 BARCELONA
Today, enjoy an optional trip along the rugged landscape of the Costa Brava, stopping off at Salvador Dalí’s museum in Figueras. Alternatively, spend the day in bustling Barcelona, soaking up the atmosphere. Don’t forget to try the Spanish favorite of chocolate con churros!. Evening ECI Experience Extra.

DAY 5 VALENCIA
You’ll leave Barcelona for Valencia today, and along the way make a stop at Tarragona, the remains of one of the Roman Empire’s finest cities. Enjoy a free evening in Valencia, a cosmopolitan and colorful city.

DAY 6 VALENCIA
Spend the morning exploring the city, including the cathedral, the old silk exchange and the Cuidad de las Artes y Ciencias. A short trip along the coast will take you to the fishing village of El Palmar, where you can sample the local paella for lunch. Return to Valencia for an ECI Experience Extra.

DAY 7 MADRID
You’ll head for Madrid today, Spain’s capital city. Along the way you’ll stop in picturesque Cuenca, a city hanging from a hillside. Enjoy a free evening in Madrid.

DAY 8 MADRID
In the morning enjoy the highlights of Madrid from a hop-on/hop-off bus, including Don Quixote’s statue in the Plaza de España, the Plaza Colon, and the Royal Palace. You’ll have free time in the afternoon for shopping, strolling along the Gran Via or visiting the Reina Sofia Art Museum, where you can learn about Picasso’s Guernica, his moving reminder of Spain’s suffering during its civil war.

DAY 9 MADRID
Today visit the world-renowned art collection in the Prado, where you will see the works of Spanish masters Goya, Velázquez, and El Greco, among others. To get a real sense of the city, take a stroll in Madrid’s most popular park, Retiro Park, followed by a walking tour of the historic center including the Plaza Mayor.

DAY 10 HOME
Depart for the US
