Host Family Immersion
Host family immersion is a great option for groups who are interested in making language learning a priority. Students stay with a family and take language classes (optional). Staying with a host family gives the experience of being in a foreign country great cultural and linguistic depth. Language is most effective when it is authentic and communicative. A host family stay affords students a wide array of settings in which to practice and use their language skills as well as exposure to colloquialisms and idioms that native speakers use.
Language Partners
ECI arranges Language Partners for any group who wishes to take advantage of this excellent authentic language opportunity. Language Partners are university students who work to enrich our programs. They provide the group with numerous opportunities for integration into the community as well as additional practice in the target language.
Please note that while most of the cities below may incorporate both host family immersion and Language Partners, occasionally only one of these options can be arranged. Cities for language immersion opportunities include:
